Redwood Shores, CA – LSA Global, the leading business consulting, coaching, and training firm that helps fast growth life science, technology, and service companies by powerfully aligning their culture and talent with strategy, today announced results for a Leading through Influence Training for LATAM leaders focused on helping managers and directors to get things done cross-functionally across all levels of the organization.
- 100% Job Relevance
- 95% Satisfaction
- 138% Knowledge Gain
- 96.3% Net Promoter Score
This industry leading client is going through a significant shift in strategy, a major organizational change, and a company-wide restructure to combat increased competitive pressures and marketplace demands. To execute their growth strategy, the company needed managers and directors to more consistently engage and influence individuals and teams to accomplish shared goals across functions. This effort was part of a larger initiative to break down functional silos and create a more collaborative culture across all levels of the organization.
The Leading through Influence Training was a highly customized action learning for leadership development program that taught participants that influence comes from how others experience them. It highlighted that trustworthiness, credibility, confidence, knowledge, authenticity, and passion in every day interactions (not just high stakes situations) are fundamental to being an effective influencer at any level of the organization.
Based upon Leadership Simulation Assessment data, the Leading through Influence Training focused on:
- Activating Influence
Any formula for success isn’t one-size-fits-all — it must be personal, relevant, and actionable. To be successful, leaders must craft their own formula based on unique goals and circumstances. Leaders learned how to refresh their commitment to a continuous growth mindset, understood what influences them, and deepened their personal leadership brand.
- Amplifying Influence
To be an effective influencer, leaders must have credibility, be emotionally connected and aware, and be aligned with stakeholders’ interests. Leaders explored how to operate with a strong awareness of themselves and others, how to give and get feedback to accelerate progress, and how to increase their value and contribution.
- Engaging Stakeholders
Influence is a people-centered approach to inspiring, engaging, and leading — with and without authority. Leaders learned how to identify and connect with stakeholders through strong networks, create a clear line of sight to priorities and roles, and navigate stakeholders’ needs and expectations to adapt appropriately.
- Facilitating Collaborative Problem Solving
Collaborative dialogue unlocks the diversity of experience and perspective in a group with a common purpose and shared intent, allowing for the best ideas to emerge and evolve. When done well, it creates the conditions for constructive debate to achieve the best thinking about a problem or opportunity. Leaders refined their ability to make decisions through framing and defining the context, gathering and exploring all perspectives constructively, and prioritizing the recommendation that achieves the desired outcome.
- Creating a Bias For Action
Communication is the currency of how work gets done, which requires leaders to communicate differently and, ultimately, better. Communicating better requires leaders to focus on clarity, connect with their audience, be concise in their message, motivate action, and own the impact of the communication for the target audience. Leaders enhanced their ability to navigate the nuances of each unique interaction (topic, audience, and environment) when “sharing information.” Using real work, they expanded their options regarding how to share information to accelerate decision-making, motivate change, and mitigate change resistance.
- Driving Recommendations & Decisions
This Leading through Influence Training module enhanced leaders’ executive communication acumen by deepening their understanding of audience-centric communications when driving decisions and recommendations. Leaders built competence and confidence in the following areas: connecting effectively with decision-makers to move recommendations to action, engaging with key audiences to create a bias for action, and empowering commitment through audience-centric communications.
