Description
This proven financial business simulation teaches both managers and individual contributors to understand the big picture of business operations, cash flow, and how individual decisions and actions impact profits over 3-4 simulated fiscal years — thereby increasing financial business acumen.

It is not a lecture. It is a “hands on” and experiential financial business simulation in which participants work through a variety of exercises focused on key business drivers and the concepts of business acumen, financial literacy, cash management, operational decision-making, working capital, capacity utilization, and collaboration.

They get to deal with critical issues — such as which activities add value for customers, reducing cycle time and inventory, supplier relations, investment in new technology, efficient utilization of resources, and the impact of different business strategies on revenues.

After participating in the 4- to 12-hour financial business simulation, participants understand the fundamentals of business finance and how capital circulates throughout the company.

Financial Business Simulation for Business Acumen and Strategic Decision Making

Participants are able to interpret financial reports, understand financial ratios, and appreciate how their daily actions and decisions impact profitability. And they have a better overall understanding of business and of how their company makes money.

Sales participants will be able to apply the same principles to their customers’ businesses and will gain a competitive advantage by demonstrating their ability to improve profitability.

By actually moving capital around the simulated company and dealing with real business issues, participants acquire:

  • An understanding of the circulation of capital and how this impacts profitability.
  • The ability to read and interpret financial documents such as income statements and balance sheets.
  • An understanding of important financial ratios (e.g., return on assets, return on equity, profit margins, economic value added, etc.).
  • An understanding of how the utilization of resources at varying levels of efficiency directly impacts profitability.
  • An appreciation for various business strategies and how successful implementation of these strategies impacts a company’s financial picture.
  • The realization that every day they make many different types of financial decisions.
  • New ideas on ways to positively impact the bottom line and the ability to estimate the dollar value of these ideas.

Target Audience
Managers, individuals, project leaders, teams, and salespeople who will benefit from developing a solid business sense that can help guide their decisions in everyday work.  8-24 participants per facilitator in teams of 4.
