Description
Change initiatives often fail to deliver their full potential because people struggle to commit to a new way of doing things.  Backed by more than 20 years of research, industry insights, and results, this proven change management simulation combines proven change management theory with hands-on practice in an engaging, low-risk simulation experience.  It has helped over 150,000 individuals and teams to better lead people through change.

Facilitated by our experts or your internally certified staff, this change management simulation training workshop teaches both the “what to do” and “how to be” of successful organizational change.

This 6- to 8-hour live or virtual change program simulates a year-in-the-life of a team leading change. Leaders and managers are challenged to roll up their sleeves and tackle a realistic change project in teams of four to six people. More than 75% of their time is spent on team-based project work where they must lead the full life-cycle of change.

Each change team logs into a simulation in which they are expected to manage change within a company that is pursuing a new business strategy.  The goal for the teams is to get as many people within the simulated organization to understand and then buy into the proposed changes related to the new business strategy.

Change teams are expected to accomplish this within a specific budget and time frame. The latter part of the session includes discussions on the various changes going on within your organization and what needs to be done to manage the changes more effectively in your unique environment.

Learning Objectives
The change management simulation enables participants to explore change management theory and related best practices, apply their learning to real-world projects, and share knowledge with their peers in a safe space so that they can better:

  • Understand the importance of the business imperative driving the change
  • Actively engage and align key stakeholders with a new ways of doing things
  • Co-create a vision for change
  • Motivate and mobilize the organization to change
  • Experiment to generate quick wins
  • Speak and act with a common change language
  • Build a highly engaged culture of strategy execution

This program has been conducted in leading executive MBA programs, deployed by Fortune 500 companies as part of their ongoing leadership development, incorporated into team-building events, and positioned as a key tool to help kick off a variety of critical change initiatives (e.g. mergers, acquisitions, new strategies, cultural shifts, reorganizations, digital transformations, and project kickoffs).

Target Audience
This program is for between 10 and 250 leaders, change agents, and stakeholders involved in critical change initiatives.
