This financial services client wanted to get sales managers and senior executives more involved in sales training and development initiatives to drive behavior change and increased performance driven by tightened budgets and increased pressure to perform.

The target audience was 121 sales professionals and their sales managers at a major North American financial services firm who all faced pressure to do more (as measured by an increase in average revenue per sales rep) while engaging and retaining top sales talent.

Approach

  1. Design High Relevance
    Designed business sales training that was highly relevant to the sales team, sales leadership, their target customers, and the company as a whole that was aligned with the go-to-market sales startegy..
  2. Deliver Sales Training
    Deliver highly experiential and customized solution selling training that focused on helping customers to succeed.
  3. Deliver Sales Leadership Coaching
    Deliver targeted sales management training for leaders to reinforce key sales leadership skills and create accountability.

Results

  • 20% Greater Skill Application
    Sales coaching is directly linked to skill adoption. (59% adoption with no coaching and   71% adoption with performance coaching)
  • 113% Greater Average Revenue per Sales Rep
    Of the 61 participants who received sales coaching, their average revenue per sales rep during the same period was 113% greater than the 47 participants who did not receive targeted sales performance coaching. ($9.387m compared to $4.412m per sales rep).
  • Sales Rep Satisfaction
    Participants in the coached group said their sales manager “made a significant difference” (72%) compared to “a little difference” (33%) for the non-coached group in their level of satisfaction and engagement.
