Boosting Leadership Skills

The B2B Online Marketing Company wanted to improve the way their high potential individual contributors viewed leadership and growth opportunities. In general, individual contributors needed help in managing relationships with their co-workers and influencing across projects, teams, and functions. In the customized, interactive boosting leadership skills program, participants learned how to appreciate and assess others’ personalities and working styles.

The highly customized new manager training program enabled aspiring new people managers to:

The 3-step instructional design approach included:

  1. Launch
    After agreeing upon business objectives, learning objective, and key success metrics based upon key stakeholder interviews, participants completed customized prework assignments, including an assessment, to expedite the learning and frame their thinking to real-world challenges.
  2. Learn and Practice
    In learning cohorts, highly customized and experiential activities were used to boost leadership skills to lead situationally. Leaders developed their new skills and practiced in the flow of work based on important work challenges.
  3. Apply
    Targeted tools, microlearning, job aids, and 1×1 coaching between and after sessions helped participants strengthen and sustain their skills to better lead, manage, and coach high functioning teams.
