Situation
At the time of the spin-off from its parent company, this chemical manufacturing company was in the midst of implementing a company-wide ERP initiative and wanted to provide coordinated change management services to optimize the ERP implementation while the company was still in transition to a stand-alone organization.

Complications

  • The company had never undertaken such a large change management project.
  • Most technology change initiatives fail to meet expectations.
  • Employees were openly resistant new ways of working.

Approach

  1. Leadership Alignment: Created and implemented a customized change management approach that educated and motivated executive leadership to actively sponsor the cultural aspects of the changes.
  2. Change Management Capability: Defined an accelerated path upon which all impacted leaders and teams could drive shifts in mind-set, behavior, and results required of the newly formed company.

Results

  • High Adoption: There was a successful implementation and adoption of the new platform, which included the migration to a hybrid process-based organizational structure.
  • Successful Reorganization: On the heels of this project, also assisted the company in their reorganization to a multiple business-line structure.
  • Culture Change: The groundwork on culture change was leveraged to drive deeper and more sustainable change within this new organizational structure.
