Cadence Design Systems is the world’s largest supplier of EDA technologies and engineering services. The overall objective of this project was to help people effectively navigate through a conflict situation by:

  • Increasing collaborative endeavors
  • Reducing stress for interpersonal interactions
  • Improving the way conflicts are resolved before they affect other parts of the organization
  • Minimizing the escalation of conflict

Complications

  • Ambiguity: Because of rapid expansion, roles and responsibilities often shifted and were unclear between departments, functions and levels.

Approach

Designed and delivered an interactive workshop on:

  1. Conflict Management: Basic concepts: Why conflict management? What is conflict management? When and how to use conflict management? Why use conflict management? Who should us conflict management?
  2. Types of Conflict Management: Conflicts about differing goals, means, perceptions, values, styles, needs; Conflicts when the needs are the same; Conflicts when multiple types occur
