She is a nationally recognized expert in HR strategy, talent management, performance management, pay for performance, talent mobility, career development, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness and focuses on designing HR systems to attract, engage, develop and retain employees. She is the co-author of The Inside Gig: How Sharing Untapped Talent Across Boundaries Unleashes Organizational Capacity.
Previously, she worked for Towers Perrin as the Global Leader in Learning & Development, Career Management, & Succession Planning and for a boutique consulting firm specializing in assessment and development. She also worked for the Navy Personnel Research and Development Center in San Diego where she participated in some of the seminal Total Quality Management research in the U.S.
She earned her Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Albany, State University of New York, and her B.A. and M.S. from San Diego State University.
She is a member of the Board of Directors for the SHRM Foundation, is a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), is past Chairperson for HR People + Strategy (HRPS), and Past President of the California HR Strategy Forum. She is the recipient of HRPS’s Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions she has made to her profession.
