The workshop used a customized project management handbook to walk through project best practices from the beginning of a project until the end. Group exercises focused on applying core project principles to actual projects while creating clear action plans for back on-the-job.
The course focused on project success factors, the goal and responsibilities of project management, project and product life cycles, project definition, stakeholders, statements of work, charters, project planning, schedules, resources, project estimating techniques, costs, quality, change control, communication, close out, corrective action, and the art of project leadership skills.
While not designed as a traditional leadership program, the workshop did acknowledge that project managers are in leadership roles and discussed the leadership aspects of each project leadership technique.
