“So what’s the point?” All too often that’s the reader’s response to a letter, memo, or email because the message is hidden in language that is wordy and hard to understand.

This proven business writing training workshop is for business writers who want to make sure they get their point across clearly and concisely. In a relaxed, informal setting, participants will learn practical business writing tips and tools they can use on the job immediately to make their communications more effective.

During the workshop, participants will learn by doing. They will analyze, write, and edit on-the-job communications. Activities will include working in small groups, with a partner, and individually.  Participants receive:

  1. Principles and practical tips to enable writers to meet the criteria for effective business writing today.
  2. Examples of business writing (good and bad, before and after) for analysis.
  3. Exercises—with material drawn from your organization’s documents—to allow practice of putting the principles and tips into action.
