What We Do /
Training RAI™: Relevance. Adoption. Impact
Training RAI: Relevance.
Adoption.
Impact™ |
Like most business leaders, we believe that
training should "make sense" from a business, budget, and
cultural perspective.
Unfortunately too many learning
initiatives (up to 90% by some accounts) fail, are over
budget, or provide no lasting or tangible business outcome.
How can you be different?
To ensure that learning solutions are set up to
succeed, we use a simple, yet powerful, framework with our
clients. It is called Training RAI™.
The model has three core principles:
-
Training should be Relevant.
-
Training should be Adopted.
-
Training should make an Impact.

These training best practices are based upon the concept that
training should be treated as a change initiative, not an event
if you want training to be an effective tool in changing
behavior, performance, and business results. The three
main components are:
-
Relevance
For business alignment to
occur, each learning solution should be highly relevant to
three key stakeholders (1) The Business, (2) Leadership
(including your boss and his peers), and (3) Your Target
Audience.
We call this 3x3 Relevance.
-
Adoption:
The new skills, knowledge, and behaviors must be
consistently adopted. Without on-the-job application, a
disconnect will occur between learning objectives (skills
and knowledge) and performance objectives (desired results).
-
Impact:
The business impact needs to be
measured. Contrary to popular belief, this can be done
quickly and easily. Measurement is a key component to
driving accountability for execution and providing
actionable feedback for follow-on coaching.
Overall, the model starts with Relevance.
The greater the 3x3 Relevance, the more you need to invest in
Adoption and Impact. The lower the 3x3 Relevance, the more
you need to challenge the value of investing in a learning
solution. LSA Global has proven experience helping clients
design and implement effective learning strategies that increase
revenue, decrease costs, and increase productivity. If you
